A full-body skin check assesses your skin as it looks today. Your doctor examines your skin and uses dermoscopy to look closely at individual spots. At MoleSpot, a mole mapping appointment combines this doctor-led skin check with detailed total-body photography.

Mole mapping adds a photographic baseline for future comparison. At follow-up visits, FotoFinder software compares new and previous images and automatically flags new or changed lesions for your doctor to review. This helps draw attention to subtle changes and supports earlier detection. Close-up dermoscopic images can also be stored to monitor selected spots over time.

Your appointment and follow-up

Tell your doctor about any new, changing or concerning spots. We will explain the examination and photography process. Please avoid makeup, which can make assessment more difficult. Discuss any areas you are uncomfortable having examined or photographed before we begin.

Your doctor will discuss the findings and next steps. These may include routine review, repeat imaging of selected lesions, or biopsy or removal when indicated. Follow-up timing depends on your risk and the findings; a concerning lesion may need investigation rather than monitoring.
