Fractional CO2 Laser Consultations and Treatment
MoleSpot uses Fraxis CO2 laser technology for selected skin concerns. A consultation is needed to assess your skin, understand your goals and decide whether laser treatment is appropriate.
What is fractional CO2 laser?
Fractional CO2 laser treats small areas of skin in a pattern, leaving surrounding areas between the treatment points. It may be considered for concerns such as certain scars, wrinkles and uneven skin texture. The likely benefit depends on the concern and the treatment plan.
Is it suitable for my skin?
Your doctor will assess your skin type, medical history, medicines, previous procedures and any history of abnormal scarring or pigmentation. Recent tanning and some skin conditions can affect suitability or increase risk. Laser treatment is not suitable for every patient or every skin concern.
Your doctor will discuss alternatives, including no treatment, and explain what improvement may reasonably be expected. Results vary and more than one appointment may be considered.
Treatment and recovery

The area treated, settings and comfort measures will be discussed before treatment. Recovery may involve redness, swelling, discomfort, crusting or peeling. Healing time varies with the depth and extent of treatment; minimal downtime cannot be assumed.
Your clinician will provide individual aftercare instructions, including advice on wound care, sun protection and follow-up. Plan any work or social commitments around the recovery advice given for your treatment.
Possible risks
Risks can include burns, infection, prolonged redness, scarring and darker or lighter areas of skin. Some complications may be lasting. Your doctor will discuss risks relevant to your skin and the proposed treatment, including eye protection and any precautions needed.
Combining treatments
Fraxis Duo combines CO2 laser and RF microneedling capabilities. Using more than one treatment is not automatically appropriate or better. If a combined approach is proposed, your doctor will explain why, together with the additional recovery requirements, risks, alternatives and costs.
